Welcome

MAY 2012

MAY 23 UPDATE: Due to the rains we have had, the upcoming Labyrinth workshop at Lenape-Abenaki Farm has been postponed; however the Creating a Partnership with Trees workshop is still being held:The Magick of Trees (Sunday, May 27, 1PM – 4PM) During this class we will explore the magical, medicinal, spiritual and energy uses of our local New England trees such as Ash, Oak, Birch, Maple, Apple, as well as others. Through discussion and guided meditations we will learn what the Tree Teachers have to offer us and what we can do for each other. We will learn how to responsibly harvest what we need from the largest of our Plant Kingdom allies and what offerings are appropriate to give in return. We will learn how to make tools such as simple charms, talismans, and amulets as well as wands and other tools from found and salvaged wood. Taught by Bob Hackett. This workshop is at 499 Runaround Pond Road, Durham, ME, but you must register ($50) through Leapin Lizards by calling 865-0900.

Also, I am humbled and honored to be a guest on Dr. Lisa Belisle’s weekly radio show this Sunday, May 27. The theme of this week’s show is building community, and Dr Lisa provided me a wonderful opportunity to talk about the community building goals of Lenape-Abenaki Farm. You can tune into the broadcast on Sunday morning, May 27th, at 11:00AM on 1310AM (Portland, Maine) or listen streaming on wlobradio.com. If you cannot listen to the live show, you can access a podcast on www.doctorlisa.org by Sunday afternoon.

Seeding Sacred Space. Happy May! As I write this entry, the trees are quickly turning to their many shades of green, filling the void created by leaves gone last Fall. Beyond the new green is always the magnificent blue sky and whispering clouds. We are blessed to live on such a wondrous earth.

I write with joy and excitement about all that is unfolding in my journey. Recent Shaman training and community with other Shaman practitioners has helped me to realize that my guides are teaching me that my work is about helping people learn about sacred space and to co-create and be with this sacred space so that we can share our journey with all that surrounds and sustains us. To borrow the words of a Shaman colleague, this work is about “seeding sacred space.” Such simple but powerful words that describe the theme of the upcoming workshops at Lenape-Abenaki Farm in May. By teaching how to connect and co-create with the spirit of your land, by learning about sacred gardens, by learning how to build a labyrinth, and by communicating with the land, plants, animals, participants can return home to do the same. In a short time, we will build a community of connected sacred spaces. This image has me excited beyond description. Such beautiful wonder!

I am deeply appreciative of the many people and spirit guides who have helped with planning and leading the workshops, assisted with preparing some of the land, and supported this effort with words of love and encouragement. I am thankful for my Shaman and teaching  colleagues and their unconditional love and support.

So, please join us at Lenape-Abenaki Farm this May. Let’s seed sacred space together and create a community of connected sacred spaces. Click here for even more info about the workshops.
