Welcome

June 2012

Bob Hackett, leading a workshop on Partnering With Trees.

There is a lot of exciting news to report from Lenape-Abenaki Farm. We held three workshops in May, and all three workshops were wonderfully beautiful and sacred. Kaye Lawrence started our workshops with a drumming circle, where we were invited to connect with an animal guide and walked the land to find an object to bring back to the circle to create a medicine pouch. This pouch will stay on the land for as long as the divine will allows it, and will bring healing to the land as well as to those who visit the land. Our second workshop was taught by Kat Beaudoin, of Intentional Garden Design, and she led us through various exercises of determining the qualities of the sacred garden to be built and the plants and objects that should be included in the garden. Qualities we intended for the garden include serenity, magical beauty, love, gratitude, peace and warmth. Participants brought plants and so the planting of the garden began on this day.

During Kay and Kat’s workshop, we were visited by a pair of hawks throughout the day, with one of them, at one point, dropping to the ground and just watching us listen to Kat. It was a magical moment and day. Bob Hackett just wrapped up his workshop on partnering with the trees. His wealth of knowledge and wisdom brought the participants a much deeper understanding of how trees are so vital in our existence and that our communication and co-creation with them is paramount in today’s struggle with sustaining the earth. Thank you to Bob, Kay, and Kat for your teachings and leadership.

Also, I was humbled and honored to be a guest on Dr Lisa Belisle’s weekly radio show on Sunday, May 27. The theme of the show was “Cultivating Community,” and I was provided a wonderful opportunity to describe how Lenape-Abenaki Farm is helping to create community. You can listen to the interview at www.drlisabelisle.com, by clicking on the link “Cultivating Community Dr Lisa #37.” Thank you to Dr Lisa for her support, warmth, and encouragement of our work here at Lenape-Abenaki Farm.

So, what lies ahead at Lenape-Abenaki Farm? Well, to be honest, I am not sure as I write this update. The May workshops came at a fast pace, and so I feel like it is time to pause and revisit the Spirits that are guiding and teaching, and to listen to what they have to say. I am pretty confident we will have more workshops and I feel like some of the trail work needs to be expanded, but I will leave these concepts open to journeying on over the next couple of weeks. I hope you check back to see what workshops will be forthcoming. If you want to be added to our email distribution list, please visit the contact page to input your contact information.

I am teaching two 1/2 day workshops in July, one at Leapin Lizards in Freeport, and one at Magick Bridges in Scarborough. Both workshops focus on learning how to dowse with L-rods in order to assess and understand the energies of our land, home, and business. We will learn about energy lays, water veins, portals, earth acupuncture, and more. Visit the teaching page for more information.

With Summer just around the corner, it is with sincere thanksgiving and humbleness that I share with you this land and all that it is teaching and healing. Thank you for reading and for visiting.

Blessings,

Paul
